I can definitely see the chow in this dog, as I also have a chow mutt. I have to say, it's quite nice that they're so timid and mild. Very cute!

He's a mut. Part Chow. Part a bunch of other dogs.... or / some people call this kind of dog a Chow Retriever, because he's got a lot of retriever in him. He's friendly like a retriever, but just wants to lay around like a Chow. And he's a great guard dog when needed.

@jen oh no, that is so sad! :( I will always remember Bear as he was during the "Temple" years. It was hard watching my cat - who had been in my family since I was 8 - start to have problems.

He does have the best attitude + smile.

I'm so glad I shot + posted this seemingly random, inconsequential video as an archive of that time...one of the greats uses / effects of vlogging.

Oh, watching this now, 10 months later, makes me sad. Bear doesn't bounce around like that anymore. He's gotten old and his legs aren't as good. I can't walk him off-lease these days, because he can't hear me and so won't follow my voice commands.

He does have the same great smile.

Bear needs his own vlog.

Huge agreement with Lauren about the many form of vlogging being a big positive. There is a freedom in this realm missing from so many film/video genres and subcultures.

@cheryl I agree that people create the pull and story for many videos. But I also love crazy experimental stuff and showing moments both abstractly and realistically--guess that's the film school part of me. I love stuff like pouringdown.tv--"artsy" but to me, still a lot of heart, even the ones without voiceovers. I like how vlogging can take so many forms--"mundane" talking-head stuff to abstract-as-hell and back again. :-)

@robert No worries, I was just joking and realized it was pretty late for people in certain other time zones. It was lovely getting to talk to you also (and everyone else)!

@all We should all definitely do that again sometime...have a party on someone's page. Although randomly getting drawn into yackpacking is pretty nifty.
